A clear and honest answer about who we are, what happened before, and what we are doing now.
Yes, Akimomo is a real store.
We have been operating since 2020. We sell official anime figures, statues, scale figures and character collectibles to customers in Australia, the United States and other countries.
We also want to be honest: during 2023 and 2024, we had a difficult period. Some orders were delayed much longer than expected. Some customers had a stressful experience. We are truly sorry for that.
Akimomo started in 2020 with a focus on artist-designed collectibles and large-scale statues.
Over time, we expanded into anime figures, resin statues, scale figures, Nendoroids and other character collectibles.
We are collectors ourselves, and we understand how much these items matter to fans.
In 2023 and 2024, our old warehouse system caused serious delays.
At that time, many items were first shipped from suppliers and studios around the world to Australia. After arriving in Australia, they were packed again and sent to customers.
This worked when our order volume was smaller. But when more customers placed orders, the system became too slow.
Some products were already released overseas, but customers still had to wait for them to arrive at our Australian warehouse before we could ship them out. This created long delays, and it was not good enough.
We understand why some customers were frustrated. Waiting months longer than expected is stressful, especially for expensive figures and statues.
We realised the old system could not continue.
If products already took months to reach Australia, then sending everything through Australia first would only make delays worse as the business grew.
To fix this, we started changing our warehouse system. We began using different warehouse and support points in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia.
Our Japan-side arrangement helps us receive items from Japanese suppliers faster. However, Japan is not always suitable for final shipping because some parcel size limits are too small for large figures and statues.
Today, many orders are shipped from our Hong Kong and Shanghai warehouses. Australia is now used mainly as a support warehouse for selected smaller or local orders.

The warehouse change created more problems before things became better.
Moving stock between locations was difficult. Some items were delayed again. Some stock needed extra checking. In a few cases, items were misplaced or took longer to find.
Our team also needed time to rebuild the workflow around the new system.
We know this affected customers. We know some people waited too long. We are sorry.
We never wanted to ignore or abandon any order. Even during the hardest period, our goal was to keep working through orders, solve problems and improve the system.
Since 2025, our operations have slowly become more stable.
We are still working through older issues, but the new warehouse structure has helped us handle many releases better than before.
We are now focused on:
If you are new to figure preorders, please read our Pre-order Policy to understand how preorder timelines, release delays and fulfilment work.

Yes. Reviews and comments about Akimomo online are written by customers themselves.
We do not ask customers to write fake reviews. We also do not control what customers choose to say about us.
Some customers had good experiences. Some customers were affected by delays and problems during our warehouse transition. We respect both sides, and we continue to learn from real customer feedback.
We take packing very seriously.
Anime figures and statues can be fragile, expensive and hard to replace. Because of this, we use strict packing standards, especially for scale figures, large statues and delicate items.
Our goal is to give the product the best possible protection during shipping, even if the parcel is handled roughly.
This can make packing slower, but we believe safe delivery matters. We are still working on improving speed while keeping strong protection.
We try to manage stock carefully, but mistakes can still happen.
For example, if 100 units were expected but only 99 were secured due to a stock count error or supplier shortage, we do not simply ignore the missing order.
If possible, we will try to source the missing item again, even if the market price has increased.
Where possible, we try to fulfil the customer’s order at the original order price instead of asking the customer to pay the higher market price.
If fulfilment is no longer possible, our team will discuss the available options with the customer. For more details, please refer to our Return and Refund Policy.
We may not always be the fastest store.
But we want to be clear:
Akimomo is not here to take orders and disappear. We are here to serve collectors, fulfil orders, improve our systems and take responsibility for the problems that happened during our growth.
We are grateful to customers who continued to support us, waited patiently and gave us the chance to improve.
We are also sorry to customers who experienced delays, stress or uncertainty. Your concerns are valid.
Akimomo started as a store built by collectors, for collectors. That is still what we want to be.
We will keep working to become more reliable, more transparent and more worthy of your trust.
